AI Engineering Lead
From prototype AI
to paid product.
Hi, I'm Seukwoo Lee. I turn research- and pilot-stage technology into products people actually use and pay for. I design and write the code myself, and have led teams from a 3-person dev unit to a 50-person research division.
For the past two years I've taken on one 'turn AI into a product' mission per company and seen each through — Alan's monetization at ESTsoft (Jul 2025), and the official ProtoPie MCP launch at Studio XID (Oct 2026).
How I build
How I build AI services
Six things I hold to when building AI products, from PoC to operations
- 01 / DefineProblem and features from requirements, plus a tech review
- 02 / ScopeRules where rules suffice, AI only where needed
- 03 / PipelineSeparate stages, the right model for each stage
- 04 / EvalHuman-made ground truth first, same bar for every change
- 05 / VerifyVerification split between machine checks and human judgment
- 06 / OperateContinuous improvement on cost, latency, and quality

Leadership
Team size
- Built and led teams from a small 3-person dev unit to a 50-person R&D division — as division head, acted as technical lead for a year while the CTO role was vacant
- Currently running a 4–5 person agile team — fast decisions, flexible execution
- Evaluated team members and team leads directly, and kept refining what good leadership means — and how I lead — through the feedback both ways
Decisions · Build small, validate fast
- Run the team in short agile cycles: build, check, and adjust direction
- Validate response with prototypes and beta tests before scaling up (MX Studio external beta, Dr.Meta internal beta)
Priorities · Driven by user data and business metrics
- Set development priorities from traffic flows and per-feature usage in Google Analytics and Amplitude
- For the free-to-paid transition, led pricing built on inference cost and conversion, through terms, payments and launch, alongside development

How I Work
How I work
From design to launch, without handing off.
I turn requirements into a technical spec, design the pipeline, build and validate the core myself, and stay accountable until it ships as a real product with the team. ProtoPie MCP grew from a code generation PoC I built into an official launch; Alan went from a research team's pilot to a paid subscription service.
AI products aren't finished by model quality alone. Data structure and business context, cost and latency, the points where people need to check, and business terms like pricing, policies and payments all have to fit together. I design and build where engineering, product and business meet.
I'm also changing how I work. I use AI agents not just to write code but to measure cost, run evaluation tests and iterate on experiments — that's how I built Decision Graph solo in six weeks and cut calls 74% and cost 25% on the same data. The engineer defines the problem and the bar; measuring, building and optimizing happen together with AI.
Turning research-stage technology into products people actually use and pay for — that's what I do best, and what I want to keep doing.
